Changes, changes!

Sincerely,  I don't think much about the journalism degree curriculum. I understand that it was prepared that way so that students could better understand the subject. However, I believe that there are several things that could be improved or modified in the degree study program.

For example, I think it'd be better if students could choose elective courses specialized in their careers and reduce the credits of the Basic Training Electives a little. Sixteen credits is an absurd number, in my opinion. Although many of my career friends share the same opinion.

Anyway, I enjoyed several courses in my first two years of college. For example, in my first year of college we took basic education courses that helped us build our "critical eye." A very useful skill for the following years of university (and I am sure it will be very useful for working life).

However, I would have liked to have in-person classes. Especially the courses that are more practical than theory.

The theory is easy to handle, because it is reports, research and things like that. But practice is "doing something". I couldn't enjoy courses like Radio and Photojournalism. It was frustrating. Also, my grades weren't very good (in my opinion). I know it could have been better.

I understand that the problem was not the program, but the conditions of those years. However, it would be good to have a backup plan in case a similar situation happens again.
